Postmaster General Megan Brennan has announced her departure as PMG effective Jan. 2020. The PMG has wide powers to shape the misison and service of the USPS. The PMG will be selected by the Postal Board of Governors. Call on them to appoint a PMG who will uphold the Postal Service’s public mission and work to preserve & enhance our national treasure.

President Dimonstein’s message as we started the New Year with the delivery of more than 400,000 petition signatures to the Postmaster General. “Let’s enter this year with renewed optimism and energy. I look forward to working with all of you as we continue to advance the cause of postal – and all – workers.”

The people’s public postal service means no one gets left off the list. The next Postmaster General should protect universal home delivery and keep public ownership of the U.S. Mail. It’s the People’s Postal Service: Keep it. It’s Yours.

The Campaign for Postal Banking delivered more than 150,000 signatures demanding the USPS Postmaster General make postal banking a reality. The coalition was joined by Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Reverend Graylan Hagler, Melanie Campbell of The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, Rich Fiesta of Alliance for Retired Americans, Alex Lawson of Social Security Works and Roger Hickey of Campaign for America’s Future and a lobby full of ‪supporters at U.S. Postal Service Headquarters.
