{"id":576,"date":"2017-01-14T05:19:38","date_gmt":"2017-01-14T12:19:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apwu73.com\/?p=576"},"modified":"2021-02-21T17:03:21","modified_gmt":"2021-02-22T00:03:21","slug":"des-moines-postal-facility-issued-119000-fine-for-osha-violations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apwu73.com\/?p=576","title":{"rendered":"Des Moines Postal Facility Issued $119,000 Fine for OSHA Violations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Web News Article #:\u00a0118-2016<\/p>\n<div class=\"content\">\n<div class=\"body field\">\n<p><span class=\"news-date-inline\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">06\/07\/2016<\/span> &#8211; <\/span>The University Station post office and sorting facility in Des Moines, IA was issued fine of $119,000 for two repeated and two serious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/pls\/oshaweb\/owadisp.show_document?p_table=NEWS_RELEASES&amp;p_id=32505\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">OSHA<\/span><\/u><\/a> citations on June 2.<\/p>\n<p>OSHA launched the investigation following a complaint in December that alleged various safety concerns.\u00a0 Violations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workers are exposed to slip, trip and fall hazards because a jagged, metal conduit extended vertically into carriers\u2019 walking path.<\/li>\n<li>A mechanical fire door located in between the parking garage and mail sorting facility was inoperable.
